Pregnancy is crucial stage for every woman to take care of their diet to be healthy. Your unhealthy eating habit can raise complications in your pregnancy. During most beautiful period of your life make sure you and your baby gets sufficient nutrients to grow and develop healthy. This article will guide you to follow balanced and healthy diet. Eat sufficient- eat well and healthy do not be tensed of gaining weight, it is normal to gain few pounds during pregnancy. Intake protein rich diet as it contributes in building the tissues of your baby. You can consume protein in various forms like- 2 large glass of milk or 2 cups of yogurt or cheese or any form every day. Calcium is vital as it helps to build baby’s bones and teeth. Milk, yogurt, cheese, ice cream are some calcium rich products. Vitamin A and C- you should intake four servings of vitamin c everyday. Fruits like banana, apple, green and yellow vegetables are rich source of vitamin c. This will help to keep your body fit and active during pregnancy. Vitamin B and E – wheat bread, brown rice, and popcorn are rich in Vitamin B and E and also good source of dietary fiber which aid to battle constipation. Iron- is very important for pregnant women for red blood production. Intake lean red meat, green vegetables, cereals, and whole grain bread they are rich in iron and help to prevent anemia. Folic acid is vital for blood and protein production. There are lot of fruits, vegetables, cereals and nuts rich in folic acid.
During early stages of pregnancy or because of nausea- you are not able to maintain proper diet then try to include snacks in your diet like fresh fruits, yogurt, simple vegetable sandwich with low fat cheese or oatmeal are healthy snacks options. Pregnant ladies should avoid certain food items like-fish with high level of mercury as it can be dangerous for your baby’s brain. You can eat fish and fish products but remember to check mercury level. Raw meat and raw eggs- is not good for pregnant ladies. You can have meat and eggs but when cooked properly. Soft cheese is not advisable as it may contain bacteria that could be harmful.
