teen is gaining weight. It’s a time to make new pyramid for your teen.
Eating meals on regular interval is not important what you are eating
that is important. Eating right will actually make a difference. For
instance if your teen is drinking too much cold beverages then switch to
fresh fruit juice. It will give lot of vital nutrients and avoid
calories. In place of deep fried potato chips or chocolates go for baked
chips and cookies. Try to bring change in their eating habits. Here are
some tips to help you out and cut down to your teen’s weight.
1. Read food labels- when going for grocery shopping remember to
read food labels. This will help you to keep a check on what your teen
is eating. Instant of buying chips bag grab a carrot or cucumber bag.
Avoid high calorie food items go for fresh fruits. You can buy baked
potato chips or low fat yogurt for snacks. In place of soda you can give
him fresh fruit or vegetable juice. If you’re teen loves chocolate then
give them sugar free chocolate or fruit salad it is a good option to
cut calories. This is healthy and energetic too.
2. Cut down to fast food- talk to your teen and ask them to cut
down on fast food as it is high calorie food. Speak in positive tone; do
not try to push them. Explain those disadvantages of fast food. If they
love burger and pizza’s then ask them to have it once a week. Encourage
them to have shift in their diet. If they loose some pounds then cheer
them to loose more. Your teen should also be aware of health problems
related to being overweight.
3. Workout regime- ask your kid to join swimming, salsa dance,
aerobics, archery or any sport active of their choice. Any of these
activities will help your teen to loose those extra pounds. Motivate
them to workout. Go for jogging together.
4. Speak to your doctor- if your teen does not listen to you then
take a doctors appointment. Doctor will be able to guide them better it
will also create a stronger impact. Doctor will tell them about
importance of nutrients they can get from fruits and vegetables to loose
weight and to have healthy and fit body.
